Baseline emissions footprint
This is the organisation’s first Carbon Reduction Plan. There is no earlier assessed footprint. The first reporting period is therefore also the baseline.

Additional details: Version Zero is a UK micro company. It has no owned or leased offices, no company vehicles, and no gas or process plant. The registered office is a virtual address. Staff work from home. The company delivers software (Quizgecko and TestSetGo) digitally. Figures below use an operational-control boundary for UK operations. Scope 3 is limited to the five PPN 006 categories. Cloud hosting sits in GHG Protocol Scope 3 category 1 (purchased goods and services) and is not one of the five required categories; it is described in the notes, not in the table.
Homeworking (office equipment and heating) is included under Scope 3 category 7 using the UK Government GHG conversion factor for homeworking, 3 full-time people × 7.5 hours × 220 working days, using the 2025 combined office-equipment and heating factor of 0.33378 kgCO2e per working hour. This gives 4,950 hours × 0.33378 / 1,000 = 1.652211 tCO2e, rounded to 1.65 tCO2e. The 220-day allowance is an annual estimate after weekends, leave and holidays. The director confirmed three full-time people, all working from home, with no business travel during the reporting year. Business travel and commuting are therefore zero. The director also confirmed no company vehicles, office use, or significant business equipment deliveries or disposal. Goods transport and operational waste are estimated at 0.00 tCO2e to the reporting precision, reflecting these minimal physical operations.

Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving net zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
Our aim is to reduce the reported footprint by 10% by the year ending 31 January 2031, equivalent to approximately 1.49 tCO2e against the unrounded baseline, while staffing remains at three full-time people. We will track emissions per full-time person if staffing changes. We will record reductions only where supported by activity data and the calculation method; installing solar does not automatically reduce a standard hours-based estimate.
Completed carbon reduction initiatives
Measures already in effect, and which will apply when performing any contract:
- No company office or commute: fully remote, virtual registered office
- No company vehicles or fleet
- Software delivered digitally; no physical product distribution
- Public websites and the TestSetGo front end run on Cloudflare (shared cloud, no dedicated on-premises servers)
The carbon emission reduction from a previous baseline cannot be stated: this is the first footprint.
Future carbon reduction initiatives
- Assess solar at the director’s home office and record any resulting energy reduction using an appropriate measurement method
- Keep business travel at zero unless a call-off requires it; rail over air if it does
- Review cloud and AI usage annually and switch to lower-carbon regions or providers where it does not harm service
- Recalculate this plan within six months of each financial year-end
Declaration and sign-off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 006 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard, using appropriate government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements (where required). The required subset of Scope 3 emissions has been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This revised Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the sole director on 14 September 2026. It corrects the homeworking headcount in the plan published on 12 September 2026 from two to three full-time people.
