Onboarding quizzes that confirm the essentials stuck.

New hires drown in policies, systems and safety briefings in week one. An onboarding quiz shows what stuck before a manager signs them off.

Your handbook becomes the quiz

You already hand every starter an induction pack. Upload it and TestSetGo drafts questions from it, each linked to its source passage. Review, edit or drop every one before a new hire sees it.

  • Upload the induction pack or paste the key sections
  • Every draft cites the passage it came from
  • Nothing goes live until you approve it
How drafting works
One test, every intake

Invite each cohort and watch completion tick up

Keep starters in a participant directory, grouped by intake. Invite a new cohort by email, then track who has finished, started or needs a nudge. Send reminders in a click.

  • Group participants by intake, site or team
  • Email invitations with live completion status
  • Send reminders to the stragglers, not everyone

See the gaps before you call someone ready

The dashboard goes past a pass mark. Per-question accuracy shows which parts of induction landed, and the wrong answers reveal the misunderstanding: the expenses policy everyone gets wrong, the escalation path nobody remembers.

  • Completion, average and pass rate at a glance
  • Per-question accuracy across the whole intake
  • The wrong answers people actually chose

How it works

Set it up once, run it for every new hire

  1. 01

    Build from your onboarding pack

Draft questions from the handbook, tidy them up and set a pass mark; the test is reusable for every intake.

  2. 02

    Run it per intake

Each cohort gets its own run, link and window; invite the group from the directory and let them complete it in their own time.

  3. 03

    Review the gaps with managers

Read the per-question results, spot the topics that didn't land, and give line managers a clear picture before they sign anyone off.

Details that fit induction

Low-pressure for new hires, low-effort for you

No accounts to create

Open a link or scan a QR code and begin. Nothing to install, no password to reset.

Autosave and resume

Induction gets interrupted. Answers save as they go, so a new hire picks up where they left off.

Gentle retakes

Allow a second attempt so onboarding stays a learning moment. Set the attempt limit that suits you.

Reusable across sites

Run the same onboarding test for every location and keep each site's results separate and comparable.

Export for the file

Download completions and scores as CSV whenever HR needs a record.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What should an onboarding quiz actually cover?

Keep it to the essentials a new starter must know: core policies, the systems they'll use, and any safety or compliance basics for the role. Draft it from your induction pack so the questions match what you hand out.

Do new hires need an account to take it?

No. They open your link, enter a code or scan a QR code and start. A name is usually enough for onboarding, or require a verified email for a firmer record.

Can I use the same quiz for every intake?

Yes. Build the test once, then start a new run for each cohort, each with its own link, window and results, so January's starters never mix with June's.

How do I know who still needs to complete it?

Invite each intake from the participant directory and the status updates as people go: invited, started, completed. Send a reminder to those who haven't finished, not the whole group.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan covers 75 responses a month with every question type and the full dashboard, enough for a small intake. Paid plans from $19 a month add volume and team seats.
